I saw on some forums that they have special place where members can publish their websites and forums...
maybe you could open new part on forum where people can publish their websites and talk about them...

hm.. i generally think this is not a good idea. There are already alot places where you can do that, why bother to do it here too?
also it would make more effort for us mods/admins so that could only be done if all the mods and admins agree..

If you've an own forum: Why? Actually I doubt the forum will ever be as active and useful as LFE

If you've an own site: Congrats - why don't you create a small link in your sig? YOu can get opinions in a guestbook...

Give me one good reason why we should open up a sub-forum for this. I'll give you the cons:

• not more than simple advertising
  
• another off-topic-board for that? No, thanks.
  
• signature? You could easily use that one for advertising, too.
  
• there are many other places that have areas solely for website-advertising
  
• target group may be totally missed
  
• we have a -button. No need to publish the obvious.
