problem with ps

I tried to sprite something but i cant draw the outlines, because of this ^^

1) did you pick gray or is this because of indexed mode? If it's because it's indexed, go to Image > Mode > RGB
2) I don't get what's up with the selections. Hit [Ctrl]+[D] to see if this helps.

i think i know whats wrong.
when you are using the brush tool, it looks like you have too low opacity. Change it to 100% at the top tool bar, next to the brush settings:

and to the other one, the selection looks like it must have a feather of some description on.
try not to use feathers in selections unless you want a blending effect (i.e, usless in LF2 spriting)
so set feather effect to 0px :
