well, i think we need new buttons. but we need useful buttons, not something like lol-buttons (seriously, what do you get if you can see how funny one user's posts are?).
i am still for an agree-button.

@Bamboori
u know what that would be nice.....but i think the agree would still technically be the same as the thank button why would u thank if u didn't agree? lol button still sounds good (will lower the # of spammy posts of us loling)

Actually. I'm the one who lowers the # of spammy posts of you loling. So why lol-button, if we have Simon?

Ah yes, the good old discussions about what is missing in the forums and what not. How I missed them, incredible.
So, we have a thank-button; the question is now: do we need new buttons (with special emphasis on lol- and agree-button)? Personally, I think is feature is unnecessary. I am fully aware that posts like "I lol'd" or "seconded" are considered spammy and will very likely be trashed. Forum Games section is an exception, of course. As much as I appreciate people encouraging others, there is no need for something different than a thanks-button. You can thank somebody for making a useful post. "Useful" can be defined many ways: the post may contain something that is informative to you, the post helps you solving a problem, it might even manage to put a smile on your face, to name just a few. With the last one, I am referring to the lol-part -- you can thank somebody for "having made your day", for example. No need to directly add a lol-button. Also, do you want to crown the "best comedian of LFE"? About the agree-button: yes, many refuse to press the thanks-button for agreeing, which is fully understandable. However, see it like this: no comments = agreeing/neutral, comments = opposition/encouragement/critique. This is how democracy works -- the people that do not vote will not write a letter saying "I agree with everything" or "Just stating the obvious, I did not vote". That would be unnecessary work. In a way or two, this is the case we have here. Having ideas is always encouraged; critique as well. If you don't have either one, you should really start socializing. With that being said, have a nice day and [No.]
