I personally really dislike urls linking to other websites/forums. Still, I was so friendly to test out the mod...
I didn't even read the rest of that post over there, so I don't care if this is the final version or just a beta-thingy. I'll judge it as it was a final release. -- Got over to that forum, found a couple of promising download links. Well, great, let's take any link, so I take the one that is closest to my mouse. 31MB? Not terribly big, but it could be smaller (0). Anyways, downloading and waiting... st00pid slow interwebz Now I got this version on my HD, and the first thing I do is, surprise, surprise, extracting the archive. No password, good (+1). I look into my freshly created folder, and what do I find here? A credits file (+1), a movelist (+1) and a stylish-looking exe. Is the exe newly skinned? Let's try it out. The size is comparable big related to the normal exe, but I disregard that fast as well as the missing data, bg, and sprite folders. This way, even the most stupid user can't do anything wrong. And wannabe-editer won't find the files they're looking for (+1). I double-click this funky-looking exe-icon, and the LF2-windows pops up. Hmmm, the copyrights by the Wongs were changed, but not the font colors (-1). Hope that I won't find more of these. Instead I'd like to see some better integrated stuff. Now, I'm already familiar with that, many mods tend to have their own key configurations. Unfortunately, this one, too (-1). So, I have to change the keys... Some buttons aren't really well-made, there are black borders (-1). And why are there Chinese characters in some places, whereas they're missing at other places? Either everywhere or nowhere (-1). And the "use the keyboard fool!!!" is really not friendly (not to mention that even here the colors are fitting into the reast of the skin) (-1). Now, let's try the VS Mode. Wait, I forgot to configure a second person. [Esc]! It really seems that somebody doesn't really know about exe-editing, just used Rammichael's UP. And he used any feature, even the "minimize on escape button". I really don't like that (-1)... But, now, let's VS! The character faces look unique, I expect a bunch of new people to play with. And I'm really not disappointed, 100% original characters (+3). Sadly, the sprites are really small, and the game doesn't really deserve the name "LF2" without any LF2-styled characters (-1). New backgrounds, good, but they are single layered and really pixelated (0). The moves themselves are often repetitious among the characters (-1). Also, there are probably just 3 moves per character (-1). Simple sprites, the lying frames look weird and jumping is totally disabled (-1). The moves aren't totally original, but (at least) relatively well implemented (0). Let's see what the other modes offer. Stage mode is supposed to be unbeatable. The characters you encounter there look pretty funny (+1), there is just one thing that I have to mention. WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU TELL THE ONE WHO BEATS STAGE MODE A PASSWORD THAT DOESN'T WORK?! Yes, I looked it up, the actual password is totally different (-1)! Well, this is one of the things that make me totally mad. I should've given a worse rating for that... At least there are some new menu sounds (+1). The rest is really not spectacular (-2), neither 1on1, 2on2, Battle, nor Demo. My final rating of this mod is... -4
