Look here
Just don't use any hit_a and the ball won't stop following the enemy. (Although it will get annoying if not destructable.) Have a look at Dennis' chase blast as an example. Quote of the Day f***ing Year (Click to View)

The point, is DENNIS' chase is not an example for infinite chasing... i guess onlz boomerang is infinite chasing. (It falls down, sure, but somehow i made boomerang flying upwards.
