Any background music modification?
#1
Well considering the normal background music just ends up being turned off, I wonder if there is any serious replacement of background music for original 2.0 into something more... more awesome. I don't mean any homemade ones consisting of random green day tracks, but something adding a little to the gameplay mood.

I have a good bunch (maybe a few hundreds) of MIDIs made for purpose of being a background music to gameplay, so in case there isn't any a-little-worked-on replacement, I might actually try fitting in a few of those.

Hmmm, nobody did release a custom playlist as far as I remember, but it's a good idea...
Maybe we could even hold a contest for the best modified playlist.

well, i've downloaded many JRPGs Battle Theme OST. and i've made a folder called "Music Pack" which contains 8 folders which have WMA musics that is organized and (in my opinion) fiiting to its folder theme.
with size = 32,6 Mb(Compressed), and 33,5(Uncompressed)

uploaded it, lol...

Thats pretty neat, certainly better than lf2s, but dunno... I think it would iritate me after some time if I had listened to than all the time when playing.

Maybe it's just me, but I believe that background music should be rather quiet, not too complex and ... with synched loop (though not too nessesary). Since there is just 8 slots for music, any good tune would get quite possibly annoying, or maybe even hated with time pass (especially theme). Though I'm not too sure if the MIDIs I wanted to insert to game would, after all, suit it. Besides, it's very rarely used to take place as background music, so it might seem awkward to many.

I was thinking of releasing an 8 pack, or maybe a few varied by themes, so I'll see what I can do, though no promises of awesomeness, I'm not that skilled in this, so it will be just a ... test.

Btw, nifty idea with the contest.

Well... I am very sure that it was me being the very first person who ever used music seriously with lf2. :D

http://www.uusikaupunki.fi/~patalus/Alte...age_v1.zip

I did that stage completely by myself and the music is taken off from one of my favourite freeware games and it fits perfectly althought I couldn't make it to loop... but it was made only for v1.9 and not v2.0 (new version didn't exist when I finished it). It should work with both versions but v2.0(a) will somehow crash at some point.

Let me know what are you thinking about the music.

An actual modified stage to match the skill of pros?...
Geezus awesome O_O
I didn't even hope in existence of something like this.

Music is allright as well, though 1.9 is somewhat weird in terms of BGM
