LF2
#1
Right, hello to everybody.I'm absolutely new to this magnificent forum and I'm looking up to participating in some great threads there were as I saw. But first,to the issue.

It has been quite some time since I have been into those seas,so I'll try to make it short. Didn't know where to talk about my issue so I'm about to do it here.Long, long time had passed before today when I loaded lf2.exe on my machine.I'm not sure how much precisely, but let's call it year and a half, maybe two...Whatever. And I was kinda stomped.

I got the 2.0 version of the game,2009 release as far as I'm informed, the last official version before the 2.0a release. Right. I started the game, made up my controls and went into game with LouisEX (my favourite char  ). I was surprised to see that there were no animations, not a single one. Last I remembered I had absolutely no problem with the game ( almost two years ago). I thought it may be some corrupted version and decided to get the one from the official site of the game. Got the same one, same thing happened; no animations at all. What I did next was to get the latest version of LF2 (2.0a) and try it out. Took a deep, long breath, put my controls, loaded the game...aand everything was fine.Animations worked how they are supposed to,and everything was in order...except for the music which i found to be disturbing and had to remove from the folder. Next thing I got was the memory of a character I used to play. A monk. Golden monk, really nicely made,my favourite character (after Louis of course). Decided to get it,and here is the link where I got it from: Link. I did everything how I'm supposed to; put the data files into the data folder, the sprites into the sprites one,and edit th4e data.txt file located in the folder of the game. It didn't work at all. All I got from my monk were couple of non-responding messages before I decided to remove it from the LF2 installation site...Afterwards I tried several more characters with no success at all.

I recall playing the game with this char,I remember not having any kind of issues back then. The characters are supposed to be for versions up to 2.0,and I can't play it because of the animation problems, my monk and every single char I got won't work at 2.0a,so basically I'm confused.
Any possible solution to the animations issue (which by the way occurred with v1.9 of the game as well) ? Any way to use the characters on the latest version of LF2? Any site where I can get other version of the same characters as those from your site? Something, whatever it is, would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Either you didn't follow the instructions of how to install the character (not everyone has it so you put the sprites in the sprite\sys folder and the data in the data folder)
or it's because they don't have the _mirror.bmp spritesheets I guess.

I don't generally play with 2.0a but I never experience _mirror.bmp problems where they can't turn to the left - but some people do - but then again I hear if there are none of those sprites the EXE creates them itself so that doesn't make sense anyways.

please check whether you have moved all the pics in the folder called sprite and all the .dat files and wave sounds in the folder called data...
also see if you have pasted the proper codes given to you into the notepad file called data in the folder called data

The animation problem I talked about on v2.0 was on the basic characters or however I should call them. Not on the ones I've put in.
There were no animations at Deep, John, Henry, Rudolf, Louis, Firen, Freeze, Denis, Woody, Davis and the template guy. Also,I am 100% sure I did everything in the right way.

Could you perhaps provide me with a link to a version that you guys use or know for a fact that works properly that I could try,so we know if the problem is with my computer or something like that? A classic 1.9 of the game maybe?
