Transparent sprites.. how?

i want one of my sprites as a little transparent in my game.. how can i do it?

Black parts make it transparent.

Maybe you use Photoshop bushes to paint on sprite with black color.Bush have to be chalk,spatter etc which has spots.


Or you use paint.Make it in black and white option and then fill all the area with color.Color should be one of them with have a few black spots.Then copy/cut a piece of it and paste it in your sprite.(This can be done with Microsoft word too)

but my question is that if i try to place it on my sprite, it overlaps the whole sprite!

Oh, and the background color must be white. If it is something else, the filter is not gonna work.

just go on paint and use a 1pixel brush make sure it's pure black so that way it seeps through the sprite in the game
keep applying each black dot on the places where you want it (if you don't care just use Bamboori's version)
if it doesn't work you might want to save it as 24bit instead of 256 color
