basically saves the html source for url X that it accessed at date Y.
url and date (somehow) map to the source they store in their database

Too bad it's quite corrupted or something. You can freely open most of threads in wads/mods, even those that got removed during database crash, but almost none others. Still it hopefully refreshes a memory or two to some. (Or of how dumb threads / posts you've plagued existence with.)
