Question about the "stay shield" thingy

The technique is really easy. It uses one characteristic from itr/kind: 8: the itr causes objects to move to the centerpoint of any Type0-bdy it hits.

Say I were to program it for a starship, would it be possible to make it go up or down without leaving the shield behind?

not with itr/kind 8 . I used the shield thing for targaros and as you can see I used julians column as base because there's no way for y-axis movenent... if you can add this ... good work. I can think of a solution which put the shield in the right high for like 10 levels set with centery, but no solution for a jump or so...

rofl, this is probably the best idea for ships since ships usually dont carry weapons :p

Yeah, that was my alternate plan. I could tractor-beam in a shield generator and use the special-attack-weapon thingy for the lasers.

guy this is for your ship lf2.

I already suggested you to make your ships disabled (are there only ships in this version? I hope so, cause ships and chars are unreal). So if you have them disabled they can't jump or dash - and the shield always stay with them on ground like the ships do...

Yes it has ships AND chars. I'm making the ship stay afloat with dvy:550 so that if it's hit, it'll actually go down. So, I was actually thinking of having "powerups" as weapons, only they float with centery so that only ships can pick them up.

then the solution is easy, you can look into the code for shield in powerups of Kingdom LF2 - there's a shield powerup. ANd when the char is still hurt delete the frames which are needed to keep the shield with the guy in falling - and there you go...

if you say the shield stays on a special value and don't move up or down y-axis you can use a certain centery value :D
