Be sure to search for Hex, not Ascii. I don't know which hex-editor you're using but this thing should be the same in every editor: there should be a column with a lot of hex-numbers (ranging from 00 to FF) and another column with random symbols. You're supposed to search in the Hex-column for these values.

btw, please scale down your sig, it's waaaaay too large.
