I cant install new sprites/new characters

hello. When I want to change the data.txt to put the new id codes from new characters in it dont works. I made a screen from it:

I try to intall it on the official version 1.9c and 2.0 but both of them dont work. Sorry for my bad English I am from Germany.

3. From the looks of it, I's say you don't have permissons to edit dat. files.
Solution: Copy the dat. file to your desktop, edit it, and then copy the edited dat.file back into the folder and replace it.
