Seems like you didn't install him properly.. read the readme.

EDIT:
id: 10 type: 0 file: sprite\maveric\maveric.dat
id: 22 type: 3 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_ball.dat
id: 23 type: 1 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_weapon.dat

Make sure the files are in the proper location... It shows here...
IN the sprite folder and in the maveric folder. just dragon the maveric folder into the sprite folder.. that should be it. I blieve.

No no, you misunderstood me ! When I play LF2 1.9c everything was OK, but when play with LF2 2.0a the game is crashed at

id: 22 type: 3 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_ball.dat

Seems like this file has wrong value ! So it can be only played in LF2 1.9c not in LF2 2.0a

I just transferred my files from my LF2 1.9c (since i prefer it cause of no music - however i like 2.0a cause of volume control and more than 100 id - execpt its loading is so slow - anwayh00zles...) to LF2 2.0a and it worked fine...

like I said maybe your files are in the wrong location.. maybe your data files are in the data folder when they should be in the sprite\maveric folder with all the other files...

When I created my own char for my own use and there was a fault in the .dat files it stops at that file
So maybe download it from another place and see if it works then

Try placing Maveric's datafiles above all the other ones.
Including balls etc.
I've heard it might work.
Age ratings for movies and games (and similar) have never been a good idea.
One can learn a lot from reinventing wheels.
An unsound argument is not the same as an invalid one.
volatile in C++ does not mean thread-safe.
Do not make APIs unnecessarily asynchronous.
Make C++ operator > again

Maybe you named the folder maverick instead of maveric
doubt it though since the data failed at the ball unless you put the ball first.
Just saying cause you keep calling him maverick

there is no wrong value in the ball.dat
it just has a few too many tags in some frames
this can cause it to not load in 1.9 aswell

yes
if everything is correct and lf2 fails to load a file it sometimes helps to have the file in question loaded first

try putting all lines right behind the object tag in the data.txt and then experiment with changing the order of the three objects until it works

if it doesnt work with any combination im sorry
but you can be happy that it at least works on 1.9
some cant even run him there ):

I have the same problem man... and it sucks because hes one of my favorite characters... It always freezes at
id: 22 type: 3 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_ball.dat.....

Dude I found the answer......

id: 8 type: 0 file: sprite\maveric\maveric.dat
id: 22 type: 3 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_ball.dat
id: 23 type: 1 file: sprite\maveric\maveric_weapon.dat

Just put everything in the right place (maveric.dat-1st...maveric_ball with all the ball files...) it worked for me : )

and make sure your id's are similar to mine...
