Phil, this isn't someone coloring his posts, or doubleposting or whatever.

HE IS STEALING. BIG TIME. Judging by BP's review, he put in his mod every char on LFE without crediting anyone. Doesn't this call for action? Don't people, who worked hard on their creations, deserve acknowledgment?

Him being a newbie isn't a good excuse. Every newcomer should read the rules, which say "No plagiarism" among other things. If he aplogoized and said he would at least credit the makers, then it could be forgotten. Until he does that, however, you have no reason to protect him.

I value yours, Simon's and Lauli's opinion highly, and you know that. But this still needs taking care of. The least you can do is PM an official warning to him.

The point is, Alblaka, we all know it's a lie.

Since BP flamed all that can be flamed (and yes, it is my background), I won't bother saying much, though I would still like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that contacting the original author and crediting others when using work that is not yours is basic etiquette.

As for the idea of the mod itself, I had a similar one that doesn't seem so long ago.

Guess what it turned into?

If there is still a next time, I can assure you that I would ban him personally. (even if he's been banned, I'll unban him just to ban) In the mean time, spare some of your time for guidance rather than rabid biting folks.

Also the point that everyone (as in the ones who are still mad) says that he stole, there is a big difference between publishing and not publishing and that it would all be all right if he just apologized.

Well, lets see:
"Stole", preterite of "to steal", meaning "to take you are not allowed to take illegally", deference from this situation (leeching) would be that when you steal you take something that others will then not get to use as if you go to a book store, picks up a book and leaves without paying.
However in this case the downloads is still on the internet (so everyone can still use them), and they were free in the first place.
Conclusion: False.

Whether you publish something or not has a big ocean in between them, but as we all know the boat has been invented and we have crossed bigger oceans than these.
The thing which binds these together is that you still didnt give any credit.
For example when someone has a friend at home and they play LF2 I doubt that anyone would ever say "Oh BTW, that character there, yes Jamel is made by Alblaka, he spent a lot of time making that character, so thanks to him for letting me use him".
And dont say that it isnt the same because it is.

For some people simple things as apologizing can be really hard.
Thats all psychological, and psychology is a damn hard subject and when you have a psychological problem you dont "just" solve it.
Some people simply thinks that talking to the "big smart people" simply isnt as easy as it may seem for some.
For example when it comes to talking to the other sex some people simply just cant make them take those 2 steps and start the conversation, while as others would never be able not to do it.
In this case he might be so afraid that he offended the whole forum and everyone hates him, that he is simply to scared to ever visit again.
Conclusion: Fail.
