World Cup 2022 Bids...

I saw a little bit of interest with the relatively recent World Cup.

Relatively recently though countries have been making and finalizing bids in hopes of being the location for the 2022 World Cup. Normally I could care less about something so far off in the future, but I found some of the bids particularly interesting... one especially.

First up, Qatar

Qatar - cooled stadiums, which can be dismantled and moved to developing nations after 2022

Kinda cool. I like the idea of the reuse of the stadium.

Next up, Australia

Australia - a safe pair of hands that will "turbocharge" football in the Asia and Pacific region

Hms, interesting I guess...

And here comes South Korea...

a World Cup could help bring peace to the divided Korean peninsula

???

And the United States...

promising vast, record profits for world governing body Fifa and sold-out crowds

No comment on this.

And now for Japan... I think you should cycle through this on your own if you have a spare sec... especially #3 and #4.

Just an update.

The 2018 World Cup will take place in Russia.

The 2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar.

Interesting. Two entirely new countries in terms of venue. In general, will be exciting to see what Russia & Qatar will put up.
