Quarter-Finals Theme: HUMOR
To sprite a funny character, you have to make him look funny, act eccentric – if it’s an animation – and/or get him a prop. Draw him a ridiculous body, face or pose, make him wear funny clothes, get him a funny hairdo, make him act like a clown riding on a pink fluffy elephant. If you’re doing a short gif, set it in unfamiliar setting with unexpected characters (hint: original characters, though not necessarily) and farce a surreal black comedy with misunderstandings and puns. You can also do a mock parody of a real LFE or 13thzone members (Jon, I’ve got my eye on you), make a satirical spoof of someone’s original character’s flaws, use irony against seriousness, and most importantly – have fun. Also remember: no pain, no gain. And pain is funny. That’s it, you have your orders, Sirs. Let the best spriter win!

Semi-Finals Theme: Face picture
Not exactly a “spriting” theme per se, but requires as much, if not more, effort. The term “face-picture” consists of two words. The first word, “face”, also known as physiognomy, frontage, grimace, mug, profile, visage and “I’m all out of synonyms here”, defines what it defines by its definitive definable definition. This “face” creature can look straight at you, in your face; it can look down on you, face down; it can look away from you, in profile; lastly, it can look up, if it is a philosopher, or just likes the sky-view. The second word, “picture”, also known as delineation, doodle, drawing, image, painting, portrait, replica and “oh, look, I’m all out of synonyms again”, defines a visual representation on a flat surface. This “face-picture” beast can depict someone from real-life, someone’s original character or be completely unique, but it should (preferably) fit Little Fighter 2 style (i.e. how the facial features are drawn, at least), but you can go wild on this one. If I need to explain it any further, for example, about the possible emotions of these faces, then please press Ctrl + W. Now you’re ready to sprite away, and I’m ready to paint the wall red with my brains, because I can’t believe, how elementary retarded this all sounded.

Finals Theme: Anthropomorphism
This is a very broad theme. If you're not familiar with the term, it simply means the humanification (including thoughts and feelings) of plants, beasts and gods. For more clarity, look at the examples: siegvar's reaper can be considered the human personification of a death god, chishio's woody-tiger fusion can be considered the human personification of a beast, Apoc's Love can be considered the human personification of the emotion of love/lust. I hope this is clear enough (otherwise be sure to check a wiki or a dictionary). Finalists - go!
