I think it's stupid to make these kinds of threads like "3 favorite movies"...I can't even decide which would be my favorite 10 movies...
Protip: start watching some older and not only hollywood movies with huge budgets...there are better ones

The last GOOD movies I've seen were
Social Network and Inception
both great movies, nothing to say about it...

And the last movie I saw was Hangover 2, great laugh but too predictable and similar to the prequel...

Hachiko : A dog's story - Sentimental . And the expression of great loss for the dog is expressed very well. I nearly had tears in my eyes.

Vantage point - perspective of different persons is expressed clearly.

Spiderman 3 - "Coz you always have a choice" the dramatic part was heart touching and inspirin n awesome action.

Jab We Met - A guy who was going to attempt suicide, meets a 'ultra crazy' girl, who changes his life.Awesome journey full of craziness

Oh Brother where art Thou
A great and warm comedy. It's pretty personal because it was the first movie directed at adults that I saw


Fitzcarraldo
A bizarre story about a peculiar, upper class man selling ice in south America who suddenly decides that he shall build an opera in the middle of the rain forest. This movie contains some of the best acting I have ever seen.

Yes you are absolutely correct, they are perhaps the best bollywood movies ever.The movies I suggested are based on human emotions, anybody can connect to them.
While as you know '3 idiots ' is purely based on the life of enggineering students in India,and awesome ways to deal with Our education System and the current conditions.I think ppl won't be able to relate to it easily as they will not have much knowledge about it.
For fully enjoying the movie 'Sholay' ,one must be aware of the era of Thakurs and Dakus in India.Moreover the most awesome part about the Movie are the awesome dialogues.Which will be dubbed by artists in their languages, and you know none can do as good as the real ones.And if subtitles are provided, they kill the flavour of the dialogue.
Like "Arre O Samba, Kitne Aadmi they " will merely become "Tell me the enemy count" or something like that.
