I suggest you to check giant chars already made:
In lf2 potion mod, there is a giant mark.
In r-lf2 there is a guardian.
By investigating their data-sprite coordination, you can learn to make yours. In this way, maybe the hardest thing is making big sprites of your char. You can use gimp for it.
And check the reference pages in lf-empire site for spriting.
