Time for a new Champ?

An annual tournament might be too seldom, I'm thinking more of something like a 3-months-thing, so we have 4 of these every year. Maybe also just every 6 months. That's something that needs to be discussed, too. Another problem, like Lukas already said is that nobody can be available at any time. Imagine, if the latest champ is on vacations, he can't defend his title...

@Noir: Remember Cirno's "Dear LFE"-thread? He already talked about this elitism-thingy that came up a few months ago. We don't want this to appear again; last time it was about DCing, and I really want to avoid any flaming because of fighting skills...

If they're still weak, they wouldn't win the title, so there's no problem there.

But in such an important tournament it could be that one weak player get third place for example because he had just weak opponents and not a very good one.. now he is allowed to decide who come next time into tournament?! Its just not good if noobs play in such an important tournament.. The tournament should only be for the best lf2 players in the world, that would take too much time if u let everyone take part in.. Fighting for the title is a very big thing.. Very much players will join the tournament, and its annoying if u have to kill all nubs first , thats like Noir already said a waste of time ..

Don't forget, champion tournaments with a bunch of players offer a heck of points. And if we distribute the good players among different groups, chances for weaker players are pretty low to advance to higher levels. Give them a chance. A real champion shouldn't have any problems to beat them anyways

Hmmm, well yes, errr....
I think there is no need for a Tournament between the very good players.
As BP mentioned, we don't need elitism upon here.
Everybody knows how good Azzi and Noir are, but I don't know how good Evil Sonidow is.
Maybe it would be enoght to let them fight
-Noir vs. Evil Sonidow
-Azzi vs. Evil Sonidow

If Evil Sonidow can beat up them easyly, there would be no need for a new champ, but if they beat up him, we have to choose between Noir and Azzi.....
and if we have to choose, why not choosing both?
I know, it would be kinda stupid, but that would prevent the "elitism"-thingy.

So why don't you guys just fight and see who wins?

If Azriel and Noir win vs ES , they have to fight vs each other. If only one of them wins, that one is the new champ..

but that fights shouldnt be only 5 rounds, it should be like 10-20 fights.. and maybe instead of random fighting they should use template or bandit

no. having one person as a "test" isn't gonna solve anything. it has to be everyone against everyone else.

I'm inclined to agree with Noir. No offense to them, but I don't honestly think they're high tier.
