Changing the disapearing in Rudolf charakter
#1
Hello.

I want to modifiy the Rudolf charakter. What I must do, to Rudolf don't disapearing, but change into another frame (for example modyfied Rudolf's skin)?

Can you do this?
I searching in rudolf.dat file and I find only some frames named disapearing (I read a mini-tutorial in structure of LF dat files) and I look in rudolf_0 and rudolf_1.bmp. Into dark frames there I paste my skin modification (that I want to Rudolf changing into) but it don't work.

Rudolf continuesly disapearing and my frame don't show.

Can you help me?

disappearing works because of next: 1280
nothing to do with sprites

State 80?? transform you to another character (?? is id of new character).
There are some bugs with transforming so you need to read this http://www.lf-empire.de/en/lf2-empire/da...s?start=26 .

i know he has not stated this but i suspect he just wants rudolf to become semi transparent or something of the like so you can still see where the hell you are going when invisible
so a self transform using a secondary sheet will not help with that either - most of all it cannot be easily linked to rudolf actually being invisible/unhitable together with the original timer

and so on

so Tobruk - you need to tell us what your ultimate goal is to better help you
we can simply change a characters skin during game play (but not change it back)
and we can transform a character into any other character (which would allow switching skins back and forth but require an extra character)
but these things will work completely different from rudolfs original invisibility
(no timer, no invisible/transformed clones, no invulnerability/scaring opponents away, etc - would all need to be recreated if required)

hm ... but i can think of a different solution actually still using the original invisibility, but it would be visually lacking compared to normal visibility ... but that requires a lot of work depending on how well it shall look and it still won't be perfect

Well... I think that after disapear Rudolf changing only into dark (in .bmp) - invisibility (in game) frame. But it isn't?
Where in .dat files is wrote about player AFTER frames with Rudolf throw a smoke-bomb to his feet?

A solution with switching player isn't good idea for me.
Why changin' frame in game must be irreversible? Though when Rudolf running, he can still stop and a frame change. And i want only modify a power of disapearing.

Do you understand?

Rudolf disappearing is a special case.Well, you now that next: 999 will end the move. Next: 1280 do the exactly the same thing, but it disappear character sprites, shadow and opponents run away.

So as YinYin said this has nothing to do with frames.

Hmmm... the best language to explain my plan is of course my native language (polish) but I have to try in english.
Okay. I make a private modification of LF2. All original charakters have heads of my friends and some modified powers.
When player push the disapearing combo of buttons (you now, for example attack & defend & left arrow, i dont remember, but this isn't a meritum in this case) Rudolf must change after "smoke" animation into ONE, SINGLE frame for about 5 seconds (I counting - this is a time while Rudolf in original is invisible), and then he return into normal Rudolf's skin, like in original disapearing power.

And in this 5 sec time he don't do anything, just standing?
If it is so,than this is easy to be done.Go to disappearing frames and in the last frame change next: 1280 to next: ???.??? have to be the number of a new frame that you create with the new sprite. The new frame should have next: 999 and waiting for 5 sec is wait: 150.And if you want him invisible along this time, you can delete bdy.

Who said is hard,it's easy.
