about rap: i don't like it, because for me it's not exactly music. they don't singing, but "talking to microphone". there isn't any melody which you will be remember later, sound is artifical. but i liked and still listening from time to time Eminem. i like hm for his funny lyrics, like: "without me", "just lose it", or "my name is". also his music video are hilarious.

i'm asking here about some calm and slow songs, but and my favourites music genres are rock and metal if i could recommend something, last time i hear "Serj Tankian - Imperfect Harmonies", but still his the best record is "Elect The Dead".

Personally, my fav genre is what fuzzily located around anything which can be, in a way or the other, described as "epic". Means, mostly symphonic stuff.

Songs such as Kamelot - Ghost Opera, Dimmu Borgir - Gateways (Orchestral Version), Dark Moor - For Her, Serenity - Reduced to Nothingness, Stratovarius - Falling Star, Kamelot - Thespian Drama (because instrumental tracks are generally awesome), and Sonata Arctica - White Pearl, Black Oceans (You didn't think I'd forget them, right? :p). No, it's because the songs are from the Touhou series, the original songs are nice, and then the great Marasy8 translates and plays them on piano ;D .
Actually the problem that often happens to Touhou piano songs is that they are too repetitive (because originally many instruments are used, so when translated to piano...), even Marasy8, in my opinion, sometimes is too repetitive. But lately not anymore, I guess. He can even 'steal' parts from other songs into the actual song he's playing and that perfectly fixes the problem.

If you're searching for such songs, YouTube has tons of them, try using the keyword 'Touhou' :P

It's here because it's good music. Definitely relevant to the thread. Sound Of Silence is one of my favourite songs. Simon and Garfunkel did a very nice interpretation of Scarborough Fair (mixed with Canticle). here

Also, Shadow Gallery is a pretty good prog band, so thumbs up on that.

Those a bit more familiar with me should know that my tastes are a bit extreme to the casual listener
