In the sense that there is an entry in data.txt that says "id: 0 type: 0 file: data\random.dat"? No, Random is not a character. But in the sense that he (for all his little constituents are male) ought to be an option in this poll, yes. For what is a character, but someone that can be chosen in the character selection menu? When speaking of preference, what is a Davis, a Woody, a John, but one of the multitude whom one can be impartially assigned if one chooses Random? If one's choice is always Random, how can one meaningfully choose which of his ten proxies are one's most favored, when none of them are truly one's preferred choice at the menu? To do so would be as picking a favorite piece of hay from one's favorite haystack.

I challenge you to define "character" in a meaningful way that disqualifies Random from this poll. For if you cite the non-existence of a file named data/random.dat, you make use of the arbitrary internals of the game, the implementation; but one may as well talk about the sequence of bits used to form an instance of each character, and exlude those which are even. And if you cite the non-encounterability of an in-game being who goes by the name Random, who beats up or is beaten up by other in-game beings, you privilege the actual over the ideal; but then you must also include Bat's summoned bats, and in-game beings whose behavior is completely contrary to the Platonic ideal character they actualize, and on and on.

If this poll is to be meaningful and to truly measure the preferences of those of this community, it must include Random. Until it does, I will not cast a vote, and I encourage others to do the same.

A character is something you can play with and control everything it does. Bat's bats are like some power which can't be controlled. And about Random, it can't be a character as it is something that chooses a character(can you play with a char called "random" , NO)
BTW please vote :D

Seriously... I mean SERIOUSLY! I thought this was some kind of a joke or something when Luti posted it... but i guess... hmph. Anyways, when you choose random, this means you are ready to play with any character. And what are the characters you are limited to play from? The ones he posted in the poll. So stop playing around and vote for the character you like to play with most. (I can smell a trolling attempt in here)

I seriously hope you are voting for Julian, guys. Why? Because he has an asterisk to his name. HELL YEAH!

Not intentionally being a troll here but Random could manifest himself as a character. Because the word "Random" takes away from his likelihood of being a character lets name him Steve for arguments sake. Steve possess the power to manifest himself into any of 10 beings which i think is pretty dang cool. And since he can manifest himself as one of the 10 fighters from lf2, he does pertain to a whole variety of powers that can be used in each fight. Using Steve alone allows you to not only widen your skill range with other fighters but he also has a sense of fashion. New sets of clothing is put on in different fights and he still has time to dye and grow back his hair which still astounds me to this very day. Steve is creative when it comes to fashion, he's very flexible when it comes down to fighting and he's not BORING to play with!

So without further ado Steve definitely deserves to be in the spotlight and not be casted out in such bias why
thank you.

@bellow: I just inspired you to think differently x)

That definition of Random which aliased "Steve" was so interesting. Till now, we had such a random definition of "Random" but now, because of your holy scriptural definition of "Random" which aliased "Random" as "Steve" was so randomly mind-blowing.

I am surprised Beardboori is not here to support his favourite character, "Bandit".
