I found it hard to bring in the details of the shirt, hair and skin at such a big size with 2 colours. I had to go for the 3rd darker colour in order to maintain contrast and bring some more details. I was satisfied with the pants with two colours even though it isn't too much detailed.I want it to be made of more shiny and Plasticine substance. But It can have 3rd dark colour too but is it really necessary? I doubt it.

Them legs, mate, them disproportion-less legs. Divide the whole body into the 8 equal part height-wise. 1/8 part goes for the head, 3/4 - from neck to waist, and 4/8 - for the legs. You are missing 1/8 of your character's proportions, if you're going for (semi-)realistic. I bet, now, he is screaming: "I CAN COUNT TO POTATO!!!" The poor disillusioned raver.

I agree that humans are 8 heads tall. (how could i not know that?) . But, as far as little fighter is concerned, mostly they are 3 heads tall. There is a little bit modification in the height of the shrunken sprite since his hands were raised(next time I think I should modify the canvas size and shrink it :P ). You can see that the largest one is almost exactly 3 heads tall.

I compared your sprite with original LF2 sprite: the problem with your sprite is this - you made the torso 1/8 of the full body height too big and the head 1/8 of the full body height too small. You should think about applying all that accumulated knowledge in your sprites, if you are not making them realistic (1/8 for the head), or if you are not developing some weird style, which, by the way, is highly unattractive to look at. Meh, just pull up the shirt to make the pants look saggy. Problem solved

And the little fingers of both the hands look a little bit deformed to me.
