just tested the game, its really quite nice 
i like how you can shoot arrows or bounce on enemies.
didnt notice any bugs though. so maybe a few suggestions?
1) maybe add a life bar or have something like 3 lives at start?
2) since you have the normal walking bandit enemies as the first enemy to appear, and justins that shoot balls as they walk, i have a few enemy suggestions:
hunter- they can stand on the edge of a platform, and then shoot arrows horizontally every few seconds.
mark- they walk like regular bandits, but may go into a charge(slightly increased speed) every few seconds.
(i guess this two can appear before justins?)
3) and maybe some bonus items / helpful character?
milk- replenish 1 health / give extra live.
beer- jump higher(?)
john- summon a shield to protect you for 1 hit.
thats all i have in mind.

I was thinking of some other things, but some of your ideas seem pretty nice.
I will definitely not add additional lifes.
• Hunter was supposed to stand still on platform and shoot up/down (depends if you're over or below him).
• Marks could start charge at you, if you're standing on their platform.
• Knights will walk as bandits, but you won't be able to kill them.
• Sorcerers will freeze you, so you will die, if you have no platform below you.
• Jan will stand still and shoot chasing balls.
• No idea what jack could do. Jump after you?
I am also thinking about bonus items. And the idea with shielding john is good enough.

then what will happen if you get frozen while standing still?

how about they walk around like bandits, but they will shoot balls at you when you land on their platforms?
and since they are stronger enemies in the original game, how about you can only kill them via arrows? if you try to bounce them they will perform a flash kick. (maybe add this to justins ( and marks) too)

Ok. So the freezing blast will push you up and back a little, so if you're standing on the platform you will probably get knocked off it, or knocked into the air for a short while.

Worth to think about this.
We still lack a monk though.

hmm...what can our bald, shiny-headed monks do?
blind us with their bald, shiny head? lol, just joking 
i got 2 different ideas for this:
1) similar to your hunters which shoot arrows vertically, monk can use a windy palm energy ball(so we can see it) horizontally
2) doing the shaolin palm as in the original game, spawns an invisible wind that only pushes us but not hit us.
edit:
-found a bug. if you are pressing -> when you die, then you will keep moving right when you play again.
edit 2:
-got a suggestion, how about giving more boost when you successfully bounce off an enemy? (for easier combo bounce)

Niice! I love these kind of games! It reminds me of a dodger game I once made to troll a friend. I think a good fun high score competition shall ignite this thread.

lol, the monks are quite easy, but can be annoying at times when multiple monks appear in a straight line.
about the knight, maybe make them stun-able when we manage to bounce off them.
and since bouncing off them seems doesnt seem to provide any score/bonus, i mostly just avoid them.
my best score so far for the newest version: 835 at 114 steps
edit:
found a bug, when henry is pulling the arrow, he can fall through platforms. so he can even fall through the first platform which you start with.
highscore update: 1325 at 45 steps 
done this by bouncing off multiple monks in a row, but failed when a knight was spawned directly above me.
