Just a pointer from somebody that hasn't drawn a single sprite for maybe a year or so ()

It does resemble Davis in a way or two, so that's a good thing. However, I suggest you base (base, not copy) your next sprite from something existing. It is hard to do things from scratch if you're not experienced enough. Hence, it would be cool to see how you would perform if you had a fundament to work with
