What makes a good LF2 Character?

This is more general, but you could fix it on individual characters:
Item picking. The duality of attacking and picking with the same button may be a great simple feature, fair enough - but it can easily turn fights into tiptoeing around items as you try to lure your opponent into picking something and using the gap to attack (while cautiously avoiding the item yourself). I don't like how this double function of the attack key turns items that are supposed to act like power ups into traps you are trying to avoid or abuse. Besides bottle hogging it's the only reason they are annoying.

On the other hand if you introduce a special input (additional to D, A and J) it might become a little "too" redundant.

It'd be a cool thing actually if there's a mod with a little improvements on competitive gameplay.

I agree, both a traditional key sequence and a dedicated key would bring up their own problems.
The easiest fix would be using the instant JA combination (both at the same time). It's quick enough, well out of the way and only interfering with a quick jump attack (which is still possible by pressing attack during the crouch frames before the jump).
The best fix for a new game would be introducing a dedicated button that can do more than just this without recreating the duality problem.
More features of an item picking button could be:
also throwing the item (no more mixing that up with normal attacks - also more directional throwing/dropping) and taunts when unarmed.
It could also bring back the dedicated character item like Henry spawning his own bow and Deep spawning his sword (as part of the taunt), without them being tossed away too easily.

Ok I see.Normal Chars.
  • The char should be balanced with other lf2 chars
  • Not too many special moves
  • Special kind of basic actions
  • Good sprite [may not be awesome]
  • Good sound effects
  • And a nice pacepic and a normal AI too

here is A list.
Char availability-Week.
Type-Normal.
Specialities-Not available.
Special powers-Unwanted.

Running Spreed,Dash Spreed,Bla bla
Man That many to write.
The thing point to Little fighter 2.0 Normal characters.

If the character is attractive, many of the users gonna like it (like I love frozen :p )
So, I think sprites are a part of the reason of goodness of the character.

And second thing is combos, in my opinion.
If the character has good combos like Davis have, then it'd be a hit, maybe.
So, as the second thing, I think combos (ofc, Data Changing ;) )
