Are you planning on becoming a professional or are you going to keep making music as a hobby/side job?
Thanks! I am going to study Music Production starting from September. So time will tell. But I would totally like that :p

Who inspired you to start producing your own music?

What genres of music do you usually listen to?

I have always been a creative person, I guess. I've continuously created my own games, paintings, stories and any other real or surreal scenarios in my head all the time. But I just found music to be the best way of expressing myself, my thoughts and emotions. How about you? :p

Right now I'm into electronic music, but not the EDM type. Bands like The Acid, Glass Animals and just lately formed band Howling.

But Somin, aren't most of these more into the indie or pop direction?
I mean isn't "electronic" in music rather a tool than a genre?

How would you describe the way you dress?
What's one of your favorite sound samples?
Are you still having your creative block?

If we were to start the discussion about genres, I think you might find that a band like Suuns is not only rock (as they announce it that way) but a fusion of many other genres as well. Additionally, don't you think that the term "pop" is actually a really broad definition? I wouldn't call any of these pop, actually, as they weren't popular when I started listening to them. They might be now, though, because they attracted more people and their genres became more "standard". If that makes sense, lol

Uhm, I like funky textures. For example, I've recently bought a sweater with some awesome blue clouds on it.

It's got to be african voices. Love them. You can manipulate them into anything you want and they'd still sound smooth.

Tough to say. Right now I'm searching for people who could send me a cappella's of their awesome voices and I would be able to produce instrumentals. I'm also searching for good soundscapes and samples. So I'm more in a searching phase.

I'd say I was 15 y/o. But I can't truly say if it's the correct number. Something around that.

Oh yeah, I get what you mean. And it is. But there is also a genre, a pretty broad one. And I never said I'm not actually listening to music that contains electronic elements, if that answers your question.
I don't like talking about genres because I'm neither good at it, nor do I feel that it is important. And it's really not. I think one should be open to any new stuff that happens around him, not only to the stuff that is marked with his favourite tags.

Well, if it comes to inspiration, listening to music and breaking them down goes with me.
I think the sort of mixed Trance-Dubstep style of Seven Lions really got me into trying to make something. I'd listen to the song, try to break down the various elements used, and I'd just try to find out HOW a particular sound was made. Experimenting on VSTs (NI Massive FTW!) helped out.
But TBH, I never really became serious till I was introduced to the Monstercat label. They just blew me away. I mean, so many styles, unique in their own way. I realised that an artist can have their own unique sound, from different ideas and even from different times. For instance, the artist Nitro Fun of Monstercat combines 8 bit sounds with a sort of Complextro style. Not only that, they remain open to ANY style: Trap, Electro, Dubstep, House, Glitch Hop, DnB, etc.
But in the end, I did use music as a means of expressing myself, as you did.

I agree that one should be open to any kind of music.
But although "electronic" isn't a definite genre, EDM is a pretty broad topic. There's a lot of genres within it as well.

Might as well ask a question :P

Where do you find good sound samples? (Drums, Snares, and sound effects). Or do you make your own?
Do you layer your drums? Or just use a sample?

@v : Haha :P I guess I got too carried away with the typing
