[Mod]LF3D
#11
Updated again with moving platforms(they are in lion forest).

Reviews please.
Age ratings for movies and games (and similar) have never been a good idea.
One can learn a lot from reinventing wheels.
An unsound argument is not the same as an invalid one.
volatile in C++ does not mean thread-safe.
Do not make APIs unnecessarily asynchronous.
Make C++ operator > again

haven't tested it yet but normal lf2 is 3d
you can go upward sideward downward and move along the z axe

z-axis is no real z-axis. It's "emulated 3d-environment". 3d-games work with polygons, and lf2 uses 2d-sprites.

Critics, ideas and bug reports are welcome (and so are reviews).

See first post for information.

And by the way has anyone found the secret skin did you like.
And dont tell what it is or the code.(only upon request)

great...
but:
1.) at CUNK i have lags oO''
2.) and i thing flying platforms too bad, cuz it not for LF2. it's fighting, not arcade)
so. if project will be somewhen complete, my respect, cuz no one done ideas like this completly.
one else =P
when i think how can be look LF 3D if it'll be in future, i think it will be old-styled LF2, but with not sprites and with 3D models, shadows and e.c.t.
but your idea to realize it with 3d person view is strange oO i cant beleive, that this view new LF will be play-able......or it have to use another methods of physics for make LF-like gameplay

Another update.

No new to the gameplay but added a menu and a sound to the secret code.

Nice idea, to make a full-3D LF2.
bugs found:
I don't seem to be able to use specials 0 and 2-9. The slow-mo one on 1 works, though.
The secret skin seems to be upside-down.
Suggestions:
The general textures on the platforms makes it kind of hard to judge the distance, try to at least improve the textures.
The HUD seems a bit misplaced, it would be better if the placement would be up in one corner of the screen or so.

Also the physics seems a bit fishy, but i think you'll work on that later :P

Yep 0 = dont use any special and 2-9 arent made yet(and I wont upgrade the characters so it looks like there will only be 4 specials for each character exept for some extra ones i might ad).

About the secret skin I'm not sure what you mean.

And the HUD I know and i tryed to do so but it ended up quite bad later i think i will do it if i can but not know.

And by the way thanks for ideas.

Tested, liked.

In Lion Forest, if you stand on either the horizontally-moving platform, or the stationary platform without the yellow ball, sometime the ball oscillates up and down, constantly emitting the landing sound. If you stand on the moving platform, you won't move along it, but instead remain fut as the platform slides away under your ehm...feet ^^
In CUHK, if you stand on the ground next to one of the stone blocks to the sides of the entrance, and walk into it, you pop up on top of it. If you continue to walk from there, you walk on air and you won't fall down unless you jump or attack.

The background on HK is black. It's easier to grasp the "arena" feeling with a crowd cheering on you, ya know?
Special nr 1 (or well, the only one) is quite laggy. Is it possible to make it still be slowmotion, but a smooth one?
I STILL think the secret skin is upside-down. when i use it, it appears to be upside down, counter to what it is supposed to be. (PM me if you want screenshots and i'll explain)

The control system is kinda off. First, upon using the secret scin, i see that when the camera moves (aka the character's direction) the character model does not. It always faces the same way.
So, i have a suggestion fo a control system:
W=move forward
S=Move backwards
A=Turn left
D=Turn right

Move Mouse= move camera Only camera.
So if you move forward, the character still moves into it's facing direction. Also, despite that, when the character turns around, the camera follows the character. The rest can remain the way it is. Maybe to put the Zoom on the wheel, and the up/down position of camera on the mouse...
