Well I made this sprite

and I was wondering: is it worth continuing. It's just a remade jan and that raises doubts... Anyway do you think that this will fit for a beginner spriter.

wow if this is a char then u should rename the threas [char]name[char]
this is only a sprite right?

Y this is just 1 sprite right now, but as I am stuck at breathing i doubt i will be making it into a char... Then again everything is possible

breathing is not that difficult,i recommend that you see some tutorials like this one or this one and
this one.

to the sprite:it is good for a first sprite.

Well maybe you should make both chest and arms go up in the same time also make the head go up so it won't look weird and also it's the basic thing most of sprites have that the whole body goes up at the same time but let other people respond to breathing but I like the sprite.
