How big are those trees? I'm considering sleeping in them. (honestly, who would look at the top of a tree at night? :P)
Are some trees dead? Could a magician bolt out a piece of them to have a shelter?
Is there a hill from where we can check out our proximities?
Shall we have night shifts to ensure a halfway safe resting?

Blue Phoenix notices the trees are not very big, just about twice as big as him. They don't have a lot of leaves either. It is nice to see the colorful pattern of reds, yellows and greens in the leaves.
The trees look quite young and none of them seems to have sustained serious damage of any kind.
The area around the party isn't completely flat, but there's no hill in sight which would be high enough to oversee a lot of this section from there.

Night shifts are definitely possible, but there may be unwanted results.

Do you guys know you're in the middle of the wilderness somewhere that lacks civilization?

To be a little more logical, wilderness => no people or tourists => inn wouldn't make profit => no inn
