Okay, I'll try to sum up the main points, in plain English:
1) Your current spriting-level is suboptimal. Considering your skills, you will even have trouble with creating a single sprite that is not directly taken from somewhere; and believe me, you will have to eventually create those yourself. Or, in even plainer English: Practice spriting
2) So far, we have not seen anything remarkable in regard to DCing. How good are your DCing-skills?
3) Creating an entire mod is hard work; in the years I've been on LFE I've seen tons of people that quitted their projects due to the immense load of work that it requires. Are you sure you can stay focused on this project every day for the next half year?
To sum it up: We all strongly recommend that you do a little project first (for example, creating a Duff-beer-weapon) before starting on this.
