For hair shading you should shade the little streaks. It seems like you've done that a bit, but it isn't visible enough.
Other than that he looks quite good. I'd suggest doing a sword on your own instead of taking deep's (which doesn't really look like Rebellion). Additionally, you should work on the transition between head and body. Maybe add a little neck?
Shading doesn't look bad, but partly looks like pillow shading (pillow shading: The central part of something is highlighted; LF2-shading: Sun is in the top-right corner, everything on the right handside is highlighted, everything on the left darkened). While you got good shading on the trousers, the upper body could need a bit of work.
It's a good looking sprite nonetheless and I'm sure you'll be able to improve it even more.
Also I'd like to see him with Ebony and Ivory
