my idea seems to have been corrupted by the general poll voting competition madness :p - not that you are obliged to follow it
if you really think about the goal of the whole thing, then the real winner will be the character that actually gets done

set up a public poll for people to pick which character(s) they will contribute on

also why not let the person who submitted a sprite in first place start a thread for its progress and lay out tasks for everyone who voted on it or decides to help anyway (leave the evo jan here if you like for it won the poll)
