Deus Ex Machina is a latin term of which the direct translation is 'God out of a Machine'
The term is used in literature, at sudden and irrational endings, for instance,

"Just as the hero of Reykjavik was about to be killed and get eaten by the fearsome trolls,
an angel floated down the sky and massacred all the trolls"
