With the general spriting-skill increasing, it becomes gradually harder to remain competitive. You pretty much have to go an innovative way to stick out of the mass. Let's take a look at some which struck me especially.
First of all, Reaper. That fist is purely kickarse, plus the colors used are great! The overall spriting quality might not be as refined as some other entries but, man, that fist looks perfect
Definitely deserved a vote.
Apoc: The idea of transforming the energy glow from Davis to a skull-dragon-like shape is surely nice and fitting the theme nicely; however, it looks a little below your level. This might be because the pose doesn't really look like it's radiating a whole lot of power (two straight legs in uppercut? No go xD). In end I ended up voting for you as well. Doesn't really make a big difference, looking at the results, though...
Alectric: Ooooh, animation!
Also a good interpretation of the theme and the quality is decent enough to get a vote as well
DesignHeaven: Even though you went with a totally different set of proportions (which would probably not really fit into an LF2-game, yet can be imagined in some other one), it's got my vote. Why? It's the splendid amount of details, paired with the dynamicness of the pose. Great work!
Chishio: You paint..... faces?! o___°
I don't know, something doesn't feel right with your sprite. It could be because the pose looks rather static -- the char isn't really using his weight to knock out the opponent, so to say. As you mentioned yourself, there are a couple of other flaws; but I'm sure you'll get those sorted.gif)
Alright, don't have a whole lot of time right now. Might extend the list later today.
