First of all the sprites looks pretty good, but you took Alec's purple guy sprite. I'm too lazy to search for him right now. So don't forget to give credit!
Also the gifs are barely moving make him move more widely. There was a breathing tut in the sprite tut section, check it out.
I think you should just make normal punching instead of well what you have now. And change his energy colors to the one that suits him best in your opinion. If I had to pick I would choose red like the red line on his coat.
Other than that it looks fine.
