I know what you mean. We had in preschool this art contest, and in that age not many know what is "good" art, everybody just voted on their best friend.
That was preschool. I hope you understand that lfe is aiming for a bit more mature behavior than that.
I think I could vote for my friend for president, not because I think he's smart and has a righteous ideology and would fit as president, just cause he's my friend. Not that he would be my friend cause we share the same ideology and he is smart, honest and loyal, which aren't at all relative to him running for president.
It's not the same with art, except in some occasion where it's about someone who is my friend due to our mutual interest and skills and know-how on art.
