this is still a spriting contest, if you like to do stickman animation i think ur wrong here, there are plenty of nice Stickman sites e.g. Fluidanimns..
still u can try to entry, maybe first make the stick frames and then just try to make a body over the stick... then u got a simple template on which u can sprite.gif ";)")
