Blue Phoenix and Simon decide to continue looking for a secret backdoor at the next side. Slowly they approach the next corner and peek around. Because of Simon's ultravision he can pierce the rain and see up to the end of that wall.
Simon: There's another entrance! It might just be what we're looking for.
Blue Phoenix: Great! But I just looked back; those guards are returning. Perhaps we should move.
Simon: Or shall we slaughter them? They might cause trouble later. Or whatever.
...
The other group still sits at the table and waits something to happen. SirFrog notices that a guard patrols the corridor they came from and also keeps peeking inside to see whether the guests are up to no good.
Bamboori: Well, this couldn't possibly take any longer...?
Nave: Maybe we should start forging another plan... A Plan B, or a continuation from our previous plan. Hm, what do you guys think?
???: What does who think?
Nave is startled. That rich buyer from the slave auction is majestically standing right in the middle of the room. He slipped into the room very silently.
Master Jaden: Greetings. My name is Master Jaden, and I see you have sought for shelter in this rain madness.
Nave: Greetings to you too. I am Nave, this is Bamboori, that's SirFrog, he's snorsorbet and his cat is named Phil.
Master Jaden: This estate is my private property, and I usually don't tolerate strangers in my house. But since you came in such a dire weather situation, I'll grant you shelter... under one condition.
SirFrog: And what would that be?
Master Jaden: A very valuable artifact has been stolen from me just recently, probably while I was out on the slave auction. It is a family piece, and I would like to have it back.
snorsorbet: How are we supposed to retrieve it if we know nothing about it?
Master Jaden: So wait, I wasn't done yet. That artifact means a lot to me. It's a golden statue of a Platiniac Knight.
Bamboori: A Platiniac Knight?!
Nave: Oh my?!
Master Jaden: I can understand your surprise, seeing how the Platiniac Army now causes great disaster and destruction upon the whole kingdom. But it hasn't always been that way.
Phil: *meow*
snorsorbet: Translation: Please elaborate.
Master Jaden: That artifact I seek is centuries old. It is a replica of one of my great-great-great-great-grandfathers. He was serving in the Platiniac Army and was considered to be one of the best knights. A hero, so to say. Back then, the Platiniac Knights had honor and dignity, and they served under the king.
SirFrog: That's new to me.
Master Jaden: But it's true. Over a longer time, the army slowly began to realize how powerful it really was, and a few years ago they became corrupt and started doing what they wanted to.
Nave: Without any reasoning?
Master Jaden: Nobody knows exactly what corrupted them, and there are a couple of theories. The one I'm following is what I told you. However, the Platiniac Knights became much more powerful in the past couple of weeks. Again, nobody knows why.
Bamboori: Well, we did notice we haven't seen a single Platiniac Knight fall yet.
Master Jaden: You actually witnessed a battle?! Usually nobody ever escapes alive.
Bamboori: Er, let's say, we were safe behind bars.
Master Jaden: Are you escaped convicts?
SirFrog: No, no, we were falsely accused of treason and thrown into prison. Shortly afterwards the Platiniac Army invaded the city.
Master Jaden: Treason, eh?
SirFrog: You need to understand, we were set up by some guy. Marcus Hawk, I think, was his name.
Master Jaden: Marcus Hawk?! I know that guy.
SirFrog: Seriously?
Master Jaden: Yes, and now that I've heard it, I'm actually starting to believe you for the first time.
Bamboori: Can you tell us about him?
Master Jaden: So wait. You're in my estate, and you ask a lot of questions. Before I go on blabbling about stuff, get me back my artifact.
SirFrog: We could spend ages just looking for it.
Master Jaden: I know where the artifact is.
Bamboori: What?
Master Jaden: I also know who stole it. His name is Jasper, and he lives in the slums of Laneesh.
Nave: You could get it back yourself then?
Master Jaden: Of course, but my time is far too valuable. If you retrieve it, then I'll tell you more about Marcus Hawk. That's the deal. If you don't take it, I'm afraid I'll need to throw you out.
