hmmm, the knight-sprites look kinda boring without all the color, just a desaturated Knight would take me probably less than 2 minutes to make... and 70% of the time are for starting up Photoshop

The are some suggestions for the explosion...
If you have the chance, lighten Knight a bit up, otherwise he just stands there in the explosion which makes him look a bit odd. Compare him to Julian's Explosion-thingy, Julian is extremely bright, and you should do that wiht your Knight, too, so that it doesn't look like the explosion is behind but around the char.

What I like most is the Facepic, it looks really cool, you've very smooth edges which makes it look like the original pic
