Eh, it's not only "the internet". I am always amazed by kids that are clearly below 10, yet play with their iPhone 4S. If my parents didn't buy me a new phone back in 2007 (got the first when I was 15, broke after 2 years), I'd still run around with a Nokia 6210 (aka. >this guy here<).
And yeah, same with computers, really. One can say that they spent their childhood without a computer, but then again, it's a definition of how long one's childhood can be defined
One thing for sure, your parents' generation did certainly not have a personal computer standing in their living room being online 24/7. Well, maybe first, but definitely not latter.
