Notice how he mentioned "popularity" in regard to the Qura'an quote about suicide. He's implying that nowadays a majority of the suicide bombers is connected to islam in one way or the other, while acknowledging that there have been other circumstances of a suicide attack as well. All this information is condensed in his use of "popularity".
