Perhaps, it might be because that on facebook you communicate with people YOU ACTUALLY KNOW (and a few exceptions).
Where as on google you don't really do much other than search. Yes there are other services but google is mainly used for searching.
Now I believe you are using Alexa, and in that case there are pretty much no calculations. They simply have a toolbar that people install, it then collects data and it is put into a data base. It's basically additions that is used there.
