@Amadis: I can address this with many issues, what STM mentioned is just the surface. The other is that to get silk naturally means either you need to find the spiders/larva/ect to make that silk, of course there are other materials you need besides making the bow string. The other issue is making the bow it self which means you need specific elastic wood, for it to be good and not break. So I hope you see where I'm going with this.

@STM: The area is near woods, (regular European forest). The food ration is plenty so you guys do not need to worry about it going short anytime, unless the party heavily detours from their destination. About campfire ask your party members.
