I didnt feel to post this as a new bug since it is solved by itself  

(sorry for not getting onto it a little earlier, I just didn't understand your point at first )

This counter needs one fresh run to cache things. It's normal that it displays such a ridiculous amount of "unread posts" but, as you said, it fixes itself. I'm just giving a little background why it works the way it works
