From what I can tell Lauli seems to be correct about the sounds ending abruptly.
Also a fade out is not as good, as having the actual sound data. The reason for this is that a fade out has a shape to it (linear, parabolic etc.) which sounds weird if you are paying attention to that sort of stuff. That is particularly true to a linear fadeout, but even a cross fade out sounds unnatural as that is simply not how a voice actually fades out.
