it seems like your just stuck with the firzen explosion idea in ur head
im not talking about the same thing
giving him an ice explosion wont necessarily be like firzen or anything close to that

here is a rough idea just to show u a different direction


charging energy for a moment (like firzen, julian and firen charge before their explosions)
than pulling nearby enemies with some ice shards thingy
and exploding on them freezing them inside a huge ice structure
