First of all, I don't like the idea. It will probably be wierd. But, I will try to help you. A small crossbow will probably be the best range weapon and a sword will work as melee weapon. (You can't handle a bow while holding a sword, especially if you are going to mix them up in attacks). Try drawing a new head, or change something in the face. Here is just a sprite of how I personally don't want it to be.
