I can hive a tip or two on the sword. My sort of epic is a big, large blade with some jewels. So you might want to size it up a little. Add a longer handle, and make the sword rest on his shoulder for a cooler effect. This also makes the sword seem heavier, like he can't hold it unless he has momentem.
