Converting a Movie to a GIF
#1
I'm sick of seeing so much crappy made GIFs, next to it standing "ingame it looks better"

Programs you need:

After recording the sequence you want, save it somewhere as a AVI file, uncompressed.
Open it with VirtualDub.
Apply filters & the like to the video as you wish, but don't overdo it. I won't describe how to use VirtualDub here.

If you are done, export it as an image sequence.

There will be quite a lot of pictures in the folder. VirtualDub has exported each frame.

Open GIF Animator LE.
A window will pop up, where some funny buttons are. But just close this window.
If you are using GIF Animator LE the first time, check the preferences first.

Use those settings.

If you are done with that, drag & drop all the images into the GIF Animator LE. It will take some time until all images are loaded. As soon as that's finished, save the GIF.

You are pretty much done.
If everything done right, there should be a nice GIF as the end result.
